Vegan Cheese Sauce

You’re going to absolutely love this vegan cheese sauce recipe. It’s great for events, parties, and regular old lounging around the house in your pajamas.  Use this vegan cheese sauce on fully loaded nachos, a spicy vegan macaroni and cheese, tacos, fully loaded vegan baked potatoes, and much more. It’s incredibly versatile, so don’t limit this cheese sauce to just one dish!

For this vegan cheese sauce you will need the following ingredients:

2 Cups of peeled and boiled red potatoes.

1/2 cup of nutritional yeast. ( If you can’t find it in your local grocery, try here)

Juice of half a lime

1 chipotle pepper in adobo plus a tsp of the sauce

1/2 Cup soaked cashews

1/2 cup of corn oil (any light flavored oil will work)

1/2 cup of your favorite dairy free unsweetened milk ( I prefer cashew or soy in this recipe)

2 Cloves of fresh peeled garlic

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar

Salt to taste.

Step One: Place all ingredients into a high powered blender (blendtec or vitamix) and blend until smooth. If the  sauce is too clumpy add more of the soy milk or corn oil.

Step Two: Pour your vegan cheese sauce into a serving bowl. Feel free to garnish with red pepper, jalapenos, parsley and more.

Step Three: Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or anything your heart desires.


This vegan cheese sauce refrigerates and reheats fairly well. If the sauce gets a little thick while reheating, add a splash of water and stir.
