Vegan Deodorant Recipe

If you’re looking for an easy homemade vegan deodorant recipe that works, look no further. In this post I will be outlining two very simple recipes I’ve used for years with much success. You can say goodbye to those overpriced natural brands which cost a good 10 times more than they’re worth.

Vegan Deodorant Recipe I:

You will need the following:

  • 1/2 c. Baking soda
  • 3/4 c.Moisturizing oil of your choice (coconut oil, olive oil, and grape seed oil are a few that come to mind). If you want a firmer bar try melting down a mixture of 100% cocoa-butter and shea butter.
  • Essential Oil of your choosing (optional).
  • 1/2 c. Corn Starch

Directions:

Combine your baking soda and cornstarch in a small bowl. Then mix in your oils.

Store in a small container and refrigerate to extend the freshness of your vegan deodorant. I suggest making this recipe is small batches in order to reduce waist from spoilage. My recipe is truly meant for the use of two people, so if you are just making this for yourself feel free to cup the ingredients in half.

Vegan Deodorant Recipe II:

You will need to following:

1 c. rubbing alcohol

A few drops of essential oil (optional)

1/8 c. liquid moisturizing oil of your choice (I like liquid fractionated shea butter)

Directions:

Literally put all ingredients into a dark colored spray bottle. Shake the bottle each time before use and spray it onto your underarm area. You can also the container the alcohol comes in. Just add the other ingredients, dab a little onto a wash cloth, and wipe it on your underarm area.

I store all of my homemade vegan deodorants in the fridge. I’m not entirely sure if it matters for the alcohol based recipes, but better say than sorry lol :).

As someone who bikes to and from work daily and chases small children around for 8 hours per day, I can vouch for the effectiveness of these deodorants. Stop wasting your money on those aluminum-laden cancer sticks and make your own in under 5 minutes!
